By Shaelyn Kaufman The sixth meeting of The Wawanosh Life Skills 4-H Sewing Club was held on Friday, July 12 at Gerrie Bos’s house in Blyth. Bos was the hostess for the evening. Gerrie’s basement was set up with sergers, regular sewing machines, ironing boards, irons and other tools that we needed, such as scissors, pins, fabric and patterns. Vice-President Cassandra got the meeting started with the pledge and then leader Eileen told members that they would be going to Sanity Hill Quilting owned by Hilda Wales for Achievement Day. Leader Cathy explained what we would be doing for this meeting and that was to serge mission hats and sew aprons. Next, members started working on their hats and aprons. Before they knew it, everyone had finished their projects and the sewing time was up. Members then had snacks which were provided by Shaelyn. Leader Cathy discussed when members would hand in their project books. Total receipts for Brussels Livestock for the week ending July 19 were 1,434 cattle and 625 lambs and goats.
