This past year a total of $18.3
million was donated by Canadians
to the Canadian Foodgrains Bank.
Of this amount, over 240 growing
projects across the country provided
over $7.1 million or 54 per cent of
the total, with matching support
from the Canadian government to
provide over $40 million of
assistance for over 800,000 people
in 36 countries.
Just a reminder that the 2019 crop
season is upon us and hence another
year for the Belgrave Community
Growing Project is beginning. The
project relies on the support of the
entire community for its success.
The local project has contributed
significantly to the program for a
number of years. Not only is this
thanks to local donors and
enthusiastic supporters, but local
farmers as well who have donated
their land to the project.
