Susan Barnett led the morning
worship at Londesborough United
Church on Feb. 24. Her theme for
the service centered around the
question, How do we forgive/love
our enemies? She noted that this
forgiveness is difficult but necessary
for the peace of all parties involved.
God has forgiven us, now we must
forgive those who have hurt us. By
the grace of God we must love our
enemies – as per the golden rule.
This will mean changing our actions
as well as our words.
Paul and Nancy Buttar will lead
the service on Sunday, Mar. 3. The
UCW plans to give Nancy a few
more small quilts for the need she
has seen through her work.
The official board will meet on
March 12 beginning at 7:30 pm.
The Londesborough Lions Club
had a great turnout for their
breakfast on Feb. 17. The Huron
Residential Hospice group was the
recipient of the proceeds from that
event. Their next breakfast is set for
April 28.
When you read this column you
will have almost turned another
calendar page. Where has the time
gone since Christmas? March is
named after the Roman god, Mars.
Spring and daylight saving time
come with the month of March. The
meteorological spring arrives on
March 1 and the solstice spring
arrives on the March 20. We turn the
clocks ahead for Daylight Savings
Time early in the morning on March
10.
Because Easter is so late this year,
March 5 is Fat Tuesday and the next
day is Ash Wednesday and the
beginning of Lent. And in order that
folks not approach the Lenten
season with a gloomy outlook,
March 3 is “I want you to be happy
day.” So see what you can do about
raising the spirits of those you meet
this Sunday.
Perhaps because we all need an
early touch of spring after the dark
Buttars to lead
March 3 worship

Mrs. Middleton’s Hullett Central Public School class spent last week making their own musical
instruments as part of their unit on science. Here, Mia Greydanus, left, gives Molly Bollinger a
chance to try her creation and see what kind of music she can make with it. (Shawn Loughlin photo)
