are in a shared service agreement for the building department and
drainage department, which has been operating successfully for over
two years. The two rural municipalities include the Town of Wingham,

Deputy Clerk
The Municipality of Central Huron is a friendly, vibrant community of

succession planning and re-organizing, we are currently seeking a
positive, self-motivated, team-oriented individual to fill the position of
Deputy Clerk.
Reporting to the Clerk, the position will provide support and
administrative assistance to the Clerk, CAO and Council in the
performance of all statutory duties in accordance with the Municipal Act
and other applicable legislation. The primary role of the Deputy Clerk
includes but is not limited to Agenda and minute preparation, also,
administration in the areas of MFIPPA, Accessibility, records
management, lottery licensing, marriage licensing and commissioning,
vital statistics, drainage, bylaw enforcement, land use planning and

The ideal candidate will have:
• Progressive experience in municipal government;
• Knowledge of the Municipal Act, Vital Statistics Act, Marriage Act,
Drainage Act, Municipal Elections Act, Funeral, Burial and
Cremation Services Act, Planning Act, Municipal Freedom of
Information and Protection of Privacy, Ontarians with Disabilities
Act, and other relevant legislation;
• Demonstrated knowledge and skills and ability to maintain
discretion in a confidential environment;
• Diploma/Degree in public administration, law, business
administration or related field;
• AMCTO Municipal Administration Program completion considered
an asset.
This is a full time, 35 hour week position with evening meetings.
