How do rural and farm families
find appropriate, quality child care
for their children? What options
should be available to these
families? How can rural
communities influence legislation
and policy so that services will
meet their unique ner-xls?
An upcoming Rural Child Care
Conference will explore these
questions and provide a forum for
rural families, cargivers, and
community developers to meet and
discuss this vital issue.

Today, people are more aware than
ever before of the many benefits of
reforesting idle and marginal
farmland. Reforested land can
reduce soil erosion, improve water
quality in streams and lakes,
provide wind protection, produce
wood products for long-term
economic stimulation, store carbon
dioxide, and much, more.

_Today was the last meeting of the
Cranbrook- 4-Her's (Heritage) Club.
As always we met at the Cranbrook
Community Centre, on Saturday,
Nov. 13, at 1 p.m.
At this meeting members
discussed and planned achievement
day. The date was changed to Dec.
4 at 11:30 a.m. because the hall
was rented. Members are to bring a
maximum of two guests, 16 and
older. Invitations will be made for
them. We then voted on having
costumes or decorations. Costumes
won. So we must dress up like the
people from the country our dish
originated from.
We finished our books and
handed them in. They were marked
while we were in the library
researching on the type of clothing
we will wear.
We closed our meeting with a
discussion on what our next club
shall be.

small moulds.
At the end of the meeting
members talked about the best way
to wrap cookies for a gift. They
then thanked Debbie and closed the
meeting.
At the next meeting Marie Scott
came to show how to make outdoor
wreaths. She first took a metal wire
frame ring and started putting
pieces of pine in the wreath and
worked the pieces all the way
around and tied each piece with a
thin wire, when she was finished
she made a bow for on top and
some decorations.
Later each member had a chance
to make their own wreath.
