Catholic Separate School board dis-
cussed at its Nov. 1 meeting the
possibility of opening a Catholic
School in Huron based on sharing
space with the Huron County
Board of Education (HCBE).
In the capital forecast, for addi-
tions and renovations the $6.9 mil-
lion Catholic secondary school in
Huron is a first priority. The addi-
tion to St. Columban in 1995 for
three classrooms, a gymnasium and
changeroorns is second.
A $667,000 addition which is to
include six classrooms is slated for
Goderich's St. Mary's School in
1996, while it is planned that the
portables at Precious Blood School
in Exeter will be replaced with an
addition in 1996.
A $775,000 addition to St.
Joseph's in Clinton will include sci-
ence, junior/senior kindergarten,
special education and library
resource centre. It is planned for
1997.
As well, the board has planned'
for 1998 a three room addition to
replace the portables at St. Aloysuis
School in Stratford. Cost is
$309,000.

GRADE 3/4
The students in Miss Mather's
grade 3/4 class have paired up with
their Grade 4 buddies from Mrs.
Dodds' class to start practising their
play for the Christmas concert.
They are going to perform "A
Fanta-sea Christmas."
The Grade 3s are learning to add
with regrouping and the Grade 4s
are continuing their study of
subtraction. They are working hard
on perfecting adding and
subtracting facts.
GRADE 6
This week in Grade 6 students
are studying France in Social
Studies. In Science, they are
learning about unsaturated
solutions and how they are
transparent. In Math, they are
learning about division and
equations.
Mrs. Gross is teaching the
Perfect Copy rules to edit work.
Some of the students wrote
Remembrance poems on the men
and women who went to serve for
their country. These poems have
been entered in the Royal Canadian
Legion Contest.
SPECIAL EVENTS
The school is "beginning to look
at lot like Christmas" as many of
the classes are busy decorating
their rooms with Christmas
decorations and art. The junior
students of the school and the
junior and senior choirs are
practising the Christmas concert
which will be held at our school on
Thursday, Dec. 9.
