With Alexandria and Mr. Sinclair are her grandmother Marie Rammeloo, standing and her aunt Danica McNichol. The service on Sunday, Dec. 5 at the Blyth Christian Reformed Church was opened with the lighting of the second advent candle. John and Jenny Hoonaard and their children read from Isaiah 11: 1-10 and Matthew 2: 1-12. The theme was "The Branch". Mr. Rob Datema led the rest of the service. His sermon was entitled, "Harking the Herald". The message was taken from Isaiah 40: 1-5 and Luke 3: 1-6. Mr. Datema opened his sermon with the question, "what makes something news worthy?" What will affect people, and what will affect the world? Who decides what is newsworthy, is it the church? The Media? Mr. Datema then focused on John the Baptist. Here was a wild looking man who lived a strange lifestyle in the desert. He had no earthly distinction. But God called him for a very specific purpose. He was God's appointed messenger to announce the arrival of Jesus. John's words of truth brought many to repentance but also brought others to resent and resist him. In closing, Mr. Datema challenged others to resent and resist him. In closing, Mr. Datema challenged us all to carry on with John's mission in the world today. We must also bring the message of repentance and forgiveness through our Saviour, Jesus Christ. 0 0 0 0 p 0 p p p p p p p p p p r5Ei- WIN A TRIP FOR TWO TO LAS VEGAS Simply fill In the coupon and drop It off at any participating merchant when you make a purchase of $20 or more. including • Round trip for two (3 or 4 nights) • Detroit/ as Vegas/Detroit ATA Charter • 3 or 4 nights accommodation at the Imperial Palace • Round Trip transfers between airport and hotel • • • • r• •.71.4,•vrIu-.r1""i reff•ii-lf•To• • • • • •_ • • • • . • •41,•• _ • • ordrovkipkr.mirir•A • • • • - 4,4. • • . _ • - Trip arranged through Robert O's travel mart & Key Tours Inc ROBarr (ey irrid771 44 Ontario Si Clinton 082-7771 • • • "• • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • 1) •7•7•y•y•ir•yor•F•y•jr•swor•f•s•ir•jr•for•ipirosoiromreircriy•y•jr.y. • p p 0 • • p p p
