Ushers at Londesboro United
Church on Sunday, Nov. 28 were
Kent and Kevin Shillinglaw and
Todd and Scott Shaddick.
The poinsettia on the piano was
placed by Hazel Watkins and
family in memory of Harry. The
first Advent Candle was lit. The
sermon topic was "Waiting For
God".

Christmas service will be held in

the reading of the scriptures. The
sermon was entitled "Waiting For

The offering was received by
Marinus and Michael Bakker and
dedicated in song. The Lord's
Prayer was repeated in unison from
Brenda Boyer and Doris Jacklin
hosted 12 tables of euchre on Mon-
day evening. The 50/50 draw win-
ner was John Subject. Other
winners were: high lady, Iola Sub-
ject; low lady, Dorothy Hamilton;
high man, Jack Cox; low man, Mel
Jacklin; most lone hands, Hilda
Holmes, Ken Crawford and tally
card draws, Violet Smith, Annie
Church on Sunday, Dec. 19 at
7:30 p.m.
Sunday, Dec. 12 is White Gift
Sunday at Londesboro. After the
service the annual pot luck will be
held.
Session and Committee of
Stewards will meet on Tuesday,
Dec. 7 at 8 p.m. in the Sunday
School room. The Official Board
will meet that same evening at
9 p.m.

Rev. Ross pronounced the
benediction and the singing of
Amen's concluded the service.
On Sunday, Dec. 5 and 12,
members of the congregation are
encouraged to donate non-
perishable food items to the
Salvation Army Food Bank.
Hampers will be set out in which
gifts may be placed.

The November meeting of
Londesboro Happy Gang Seniors
was held at the WI Hall on
Wednesday, Nov. 24 beginning at
12:30 p.m. with a Christmas dinner
served by Londesboro UCW.
Rev. Paul Ross led in prayer.
Addie Hunking thanked the UCW
for serving the meal. President
Edythe Beacom welcomed
everyone and read a Christmas
poem.
The meeting opened with 0
Canada. Ruth Vincent arranged for
the entertainment. Harry Lear led in
the singing of Christmas carols.
Gladys Van Egmond played her
accordian. Joe Chatterton of Blyth
UCW meets
The Londesboro UCW Christmas
meeting is at the church on
Monday, Dec. 6. Pot luck dinner
starts at 6:30 p.m.
Shuffleboard
Shuffleboard was played at
Hullett Central Public School on
Wednesday evening, Nov. 24. High
man was Milton Dale and high lady
was won by Edythe Beacom. There
were 10 people present.
Euchre
Euchre was held in the Auburn
Community hall on Tuesday
evening, Nov. 23 with five tables in
play. High lady was Frances Clark
and low lady was Bernice
McClinchey. High man was Harold
McClinchey and low man was Ell
Lapp. The special prize went to
Lillian Letherland.
Euchre is played every Tuesday
evening at 8 p.m.

"Casey's billy goat". Betty Hulley
; thanked those who took part in the
program.
Several draws were held with
many people winning prizes.
Cars were played.
The next Seniors meeting will be
the last Wednesday in January.

There were nine tables of euchre
in play at the Hall on Friday
evening, Nov. 26. This was
sponsored by the WI.
Lucky winners were: ladies' high,
Vera Hesselwood; ladies' lone
hands, Alice Buchanan; ladies' low,
Ruth Jenkins; men's high, Ted
Fothergill; men's Ione hands,
George Hoggart; men's low,
Marion Haggitt.
