Area UCW members attend Fall Rally
The 31st Fall Regional Rally of
the North Huron United Church
Women was held in the Fordwich
United Church. Ladies from Bel-
grave, Bluevale, Blyth, Calvin-
Brick, Fordwich, Kurtzville, Gorrie,
Whitechurch, Wingham and Wroxe-
ter UCWs were in attendance.
Mrs. Barbara Anderson,
Belgrave, the regional president
welcomed everyone and called on
Rev. Jagger of the Fordwich
Church for prayer.
Mrs. Susan Howson presented
the financial statement for the
North-Huron Presbyterial and the
budget for 1994 was previewed.
Mrs. Howson stated, the contribu-
tion for ''Seeds for Africa" project
has been withheld until the political
situation in Angola has improved.
There will be no April event in
1994 as the Huron-Perth Presby-
terial will be hosting the London
Conference Annual Meeting in
Stratford.
Mrs. Betty Graber president of
Huron-Perth Presbyterial brought
greetings from the executive. Her
message to the gathering advised
that during trying and troubling
times in the church all lines of
communication must be kept open.
The church is alive and well but
there are times when it needs
bolstering. •
Everyone enjoyed Mrs. Graber's
musical selections.
Mrs. Barbara Anderson con-
ducted the business portion. Sixty-
one ladies answered roll call. The
offering is to be shared by the M &
S fund and Camp Mensetung which
is badly in need of funds for a new
septic system.
Mrs. Erland Thornton extended
an invitation from Gorrie UCW for
the 1994 Fall Rally.
Special speaker for the evening
was Reverend Ivan Dambrowitz,
Bluevale who chose as his topic
"Mission into 21st Century".
The theme of the worship service
"A Thankful Heart" was conducted
by Mrs. Edna Fairies and Mrs.
Wendy Campbell of the Gorrie
UCW.
Mrs. Brenda Radford gave her
literature report and introduced
several new children's books.
After benediction, Mrs. Jean
Clarkson extended an invitation to
everyone for lunch and a time of
fellowship. At this time the book
display was a popular place.
Greeters at Blyth United Church
were Lloyd and Donna Sippel.
Ushers were Kristy, Evelyn,
Stephen and Joan Caldwell.
Rev. Tolmay opened the service
with the call to worship. "All People
that on Earth Dwell" was sung. This
was followed by the Prayer of
Approach, Prayer of Confession and

JAMES H. WARRELL
James Hyndman Warrell of Ford-
wich passed away at his residence,
Bonnie Brae Health Care Centre in
Tavistock. He was in his 93rd year.
Mr. Warrell was the son of the
late John Warrell and Frances Hyn-
dman.
He was born on a farm near
Orange Hill and fanned most of his
life before retiring to Fordwich.
Mr. Warrell was predeceased by
his wife Marguerite Lind Johnston
(1980) and his only son, Flying
Officer John Francis (Frank) War-
rell, who was killed in action in
1945.
He will be sadly missed by his
family, Noreen and Ray Fleis-
chauer and family of Stratford, Bill
and Christina Johnston and family
of Toronto and his daughter-in-law
Anne Cameron and family of
responsive Psalm 100.
Rose de Boer was in charge of
junior congregation "Jesus Loves
Me" was sung while the children
departed. A duet, "He" was sung by
Cheryl Cronin and Garth Walden.
The scripture was Matthew 25: 31-
46 and Ezekiel 34: 11-16, 20 - 24.
Rev. Tolmay's sermon, "The
Good Shepherd" was followed by
Toronto.
Mr. Warrell was an avid history
buff, an amateur wrestler and a
great story teller.
Rev. David Jagger officiated at
the service held at the Fordwich
United Church on Nov. 17, 1993.
Tom Ingles gave the eulogy.
Interment was at Gorrie Ceme-
tery.
Pallbearers were Dunc Sangster,
Gerry Brewer, Joe King, Art Bryce,
Frank Renwick and Tom Ingles.
In remembrance, donations to the
Fordwich United Church Improve-
ment Fund would be appreciated.
ELIZABETH DAILEY
Elizabeth Isabella (Fairy) (Fells )
Dailey, of Barrie, passed away
there at the 100F Home on
Nov. 13, 1993. She was 83.
She was the widow of Ernest
Dailey, and daughter of John and
Annie (Scott) Fells of the sixth line
of East Wawanosh. She was also
predeceased by two brothers,
Elliott and Oliver. She taught
elementary school at Burnt River,
the singing of "The King of Love
my Shepherd".
The congregation was told of two
petitions in the church narthex, one
regarding Home Care, the other
Fire Arms.
Next week Nov. 27 is the first
week of Advent.
The final hymn was "Saviour like
a Shepherd Lead Us."
Fort Erie, and the Barrie area.
At her request, there was no
visitation or funeral service.
Cremation was followed by
interment in Craighurst
Presbyterian Cemetery, with
arrangements by the Steckley-
Gooderham Funeral Home, Barrie.
Mennonite news
Elwin Garland was worship
leader at Brussels Mennonite
Fellowship on Sunday, Nov. 21. It
was pastor exchange Sunday.
Pastor Tom Warner, of Brussels
Mennonite was preaching at
Riverdale Church and Pastor Phil
Bender, and Mrs. Bender were at
Brussels.
Mrs. Bender gave a children's
story and assisted Pastor Bender in
giving the message. The Benders
had spent four years recently on the
mission field in AFrica and spoke
on what they had learned about
Christian Life from the natives in
the area where they were stationed.
