The choir sang 'I'm Gonna Live'. The choir is now learning new music for Christmas and could use some more voices. Anyone interested can show up Thursday nights at 7:30. Rev. Banks called Malinda Johnston, wife of the late Hugh Johnston, and Ruth Krick and Gordon Lydiatte, daughter and son of the late Margery Ritchie, to come forward for the dedication service. A NRSV Lectern Bible was dedicated in memory of Margery Ritchie and a candle lighter was dedicated in memory of Hugh Johnston. Rev. Banks read from the new bible and for children's time he showed the children how to use the candle lighter. A lively song called 'We are the Church' was the children's hymn. Rev. Banks challenged the congregation to see how fast they could sing the last chorus, then couldn't help but point out that the children in Bible school last summer sang it twice as fast. Taking a break from the usual sermon time, Rev. Banks, Dianne McCallum and Marie McGavin did a dramatic presentation called 'Our Overseas Mission History'. We were fortunate to hear 'Soundsation' perform in the Brussels arena Saturday. It was a wonderful show and Walton's very own 'Neil McGavin was the MC. The man, with a never-ending stream of jokes, kept people entertained between numbers. Dianne McCallum, who sings with the Seaforth Harmony Hi- Lites, travelled with the group to Chicago, last weekend for the International Women's Barbershop competition. Although the choir didn't make the top 10, their director Marg Whitmore said they did their best and she was very proud of them. There were some really outstanding choirs and Dianne especially enjoyed the quartet from England. Walton pupils make posters
