The Belgrave Atoms of the

This was the season opener for the
team and they had Aaron Bakker in
net for Belgrave and Ryan Lee for
Blyth.
Belgrave led the game 2-0
through two and a half periods
when Blyth answered with one of
their own.
Each team scored once again
with the final score being 3-2.

by Justin Campbell (two) and Tim
Robinson. Assists went to Travis
Campbell (two).

The Blyth Midgets travelled to
Hensall on Nov. 8 and survived a
Hensall late game comeback to
whip the Mustangs 6-4.
Danny Gibbings set up Ben
Hakkers' game-opening goal five
minutes into the action. Hensall
tied the game late in the period but
Blyth responded with three
unanswered second period tallies
for a controlling, 4-1 lead after two.
Christopher Howson assisted on
Casey Boven's goal from a

into period two. Two minutes later
Ryan Chamney increased the lead
to 3-1 as wingers Danny Gibbings
and Jason Heipel did the spade
work in the corners. Another two
minutes elapsed before Hakkers
pounced on an opposition give-
away and drilled the puck home as
he was left alone in the slot.
Hensall cut the lead to 4-2, 56
seconds into the third period, but
Blyth responded with the eventual
game winner shortly after.
Chamney set up Heipel's long shot
that was tipped out of the air at the
edge of the crease by Gibbings.
Hensall mounted their comeback
and crept to 5-4 with two quick
goals with three minutes remaining
in the game. Blyth regrouped and
responded with an insurance goal
with just under two minutes left to
play. Chamney won a faceoff deep
in the Hensall zone and fed
Gibbings who doubled his season
output with his second goal of the
game.
The defence never let Hensall

The Brussels Bulls faced the top
two teams in the Western Jr C loop
on the weekend, and came away
with no points.
On Friday night, the Bulls visited
Wingham. As in their last
appearance, Brussels kept the game
close after two periods, but lost
control of the game in the third.
The Bulls actually led the game
after the first period, thanks to two
goals by Nate Bender. However,
Wingham tied the game at 4-4 after
two on goals by Deryk Hastie in
the first, and Chris Kennedy, Brian
Martin and Chris Fisher in the

In other Bulls news, Brussels will

their lineup this weekend. The
Miller Lake native played 14
games for the Bulls last season,
scoring twice and adding five

Robins indicated to the league he
was interested in playing in
Hanover this season, and wouldn't
report to Brussels.
After a league hearing Sunday
morning, the OHA decided to let
the two teams decide the issue.
Robins decided he will report.
