OTAB offers trade training for women The Ontario Training and Adjust- ment Board (OTAB) is offering a program for women to receive training in trades, technology and operations. The initiative is to give employ- ers the opportunity to train their female staff, working in traditional- ly female-dominated jobs, to become more competitive for job placement in other sectors. Involvement in the program will include keeping their base job while taking 34 days of classroom sessions, shop training and work placement. OTAB will pay up to 50 percent of the training costs under the pro- gram Technical Stream Mobility/ BRIDGES to Equity. Anyone interested in the BRIDGES to Equity program should contact the Ontario Skills Manager at the nearest college of applied arts and technology.
