Rev. Banks told the children the
story of the 10 bridesmaids who
took their lamps to meet the
bridegroom. Half of their lights
went out because they hadn't put oil
in them and the others wouldn't
share. It was a warning that we
should always be ready for we
don't know what moment Jesus
may return. The Children's Hymn
was "I Prayed in the Tub".
Scripture passages were read
from Joshua 24:14-25, I
Thessalonians 4:13-18 and
Matthew 25:1-13.
The closing hymn was "God, the
Omnipotent", followed by the
benediction. The congregation left
the church during an organ prelude
of "Let There be Peace on Earth".
