Ethel 4-H members have started
a new project called "All the
World's a Stage". They call
themselves The Ecstatic Dramatics.
Leaders are Barb Martin and
Jennifer Cochrane. They elected
Jenny Terpstra as president,
Heather Blake as vice president,
Christina Befurt and Amy Terpstra
as secretary and Wanda Martin as
press reporter. Youth leaders are
Amy and Julie Terpstra.
At the first meeting they played a
few get acquainted games. They
learned that drama is not just
acting, it includes such things as
play writing, directing, lighting,
sets and costumes. Drama is not
just what happens on stage, it's
what's happening in everyday life.
The group made up a story, as an
exercise to test memory skills.
They ten told stories using a
"talking stick". Only the person
with the stick can talk, you then
pass it to the next person.
The next meeting was held at
Jennifer Cochrane's. They call the
meetings acts. Jennifer led the club

talked about Canadian tneatre,
Identity means knowing who you
are. They were encouraged to
support Canadian theatre.
They then divided into groups
and acted out a few skituations.
They did some mime acting; this
was a fun experience. The meeting
was closed with 4-H Motto, "Learn
to Do by Doing".
The third meeting of the Ethel
Ecstatic Dramatics was at the Ethel
United Church on Oct. 30. This
proved to be interesting as they
came with a costume, then spent
time making up each other's faces
with makeup. The girls proved
their creative abilities.
They sat in a circle and took
turns acting out the character they
represented, then had a story time
where each member either told a
story by memory or read a story or
poem.
On Tuesday Nov. 2 they
travelled to Stratford Festivil
Theatre to see the play Gypsy,
which was enjoyed by all.
Members were made aware of all
the work and time it takes to
produce a play such as this.

The Walton 4-H meeting opened
with members saying the 4-H
pledge. After leaders Dianne Baan
and Marilyn Campbell and the
members introduced themselves.
The leaders explained what the
Holiday Crafts Club was about.
Members then split into two
groups; the older girls started with
a present cover made out of holiday
material and the younger girls
started with the card houses made
out of old cards.
At the end of the meeting the
leaders said what members had to
do before the next meeting and then
the club president, Sherry Baan
closed the meeting.
