Ross gave the pastoral and closing prayer. Hymn "Lord Dismiss Us with Thy Blessing" was sung. Rev. Ross pronounced the Benediction and singing of Amens ended the service. Rev. Paul Ross conducted the service at Knox United Church and Bernice Gross was organist. Rev. Ross gave words of welcome and invitation to worship was repeated alternately. The opening chorus was sung. Rev. Ross gave the Prayers of Approach and Confession. "Sing Ye Praises to the Father" was sung. Rev. Ross had conversation with the children and the Lord's Prayer was repeated in unison. New president, Edythe Beacom welcomed everyone. She read a poem on Halloween and one on friends. Reta Kelland read, "Come Fly With Us". The minutes of the September meeting were read. Thank you's were read from Laura Lyon, Reg Lawson and Addie Hunking. Reta gave the financial report. Roll call was taken. Each member is to bring a prize for the November meeting draw. Dinner is at 12:30 p.m. January cakes are Reta and Addie. Ice cream is June Fothergill. Kitchen help is Hazel Watkins, Beth Knox and Addie Hunking. A motion was made to thank Ken and Betty Hulley for painting the upstairs of the hall. 4-H group to demonstrate at WI meeting The November meeting of Londesboro WI will be held at the hall on Wednesday, Nov. 10 at 8 p.m. Thelma Dougherty and the 4-H group will demonstrate and speak. Members are to bring a gift for the Day Centre Bazaar. WI euchres will be held at 8 p.m. at Londesboro Hall on Nov. 12, Nov. 26 and Dec. 10. People Jack and Helen Lee were on a bus trip to Branson, Missouri. The Christmas dinner is on Wednesday, Nov. 24. The Seniors Dance is Dec. 15. Shuffleboard starts at the school on Wednesday, Nov. 3 at 8 p.m. There were five tables of euchre. Winners were: ladies' high, Helen Lawson; ladies' lone hands, Ora Bruce; ladies' low, Margaret Taylor, men's high, Estella Adams; men's lone hands, Vietta Hoggart; men's low, Lome Hunking. Hullett kids create spooky apple witches for Halloween SCARY SCARY STUFF By Amy Wilts, Shannon Scott, Angie Konarski and Tammy Vincent Mrs. Bosman's grade one/two class has been up to really spooky things this week. They have been working with a partner to complete the 10 Halloween activities set up around the classroom_ On Thursday they each made the spookiest or funniest jack-o-lantern they could think of. They would like to thank Mrs. Walter for providing them with the pumpkins. They had a great time. They were really looking forward to seeing each other's costumes at the Halloween parade on Friday afternoon. WHICH WITCH IS WHICH? This week the kindergartens from Hullett have carved apples and dried them. The apples are now being made into scary apple doll witches. Continued on page 8
