OPERATION PUMPKIN
Rules For A Sale Halloween
1. Wear a short, light-coloured, fireproof costume. It can be easily
seen by motorists and the costume won't get in the way when walking.
2. Use makeup to disguise face. Masks don't just hide faces, they hide
everything in front of them too.
3. When it's dark out you can be seen easier when your flashlight is
turned on.
4. Before you go out, tell an adult where you are going and when you
will be back.
5. When you are going from door to door, always go with friends,
never alone.
6. Do not constantly go from one side of the street to the other. Cross
at the corner and never between parked cars.
7. Never go into houses; always stay at the door.
8. Never get into a car driven by a stranger.
9. If you need help, you will always know where to find it with the red-
and-white BLOCK PARENT sign.
10. When you get home, check out your candy with an adult before
eating any.

Soccer schedule is coming to a
close. For the boys, the White
House is in first place and for the
girls the Green House is in the lead.
Play-offs will begin next week.
There will be a best two out of
three semi final and the best two
out of three for the final. Grade
eights are planning a Halloween
dance on Oct. 29. It starts at 7:30
and ends at 11. Thanks to the
parents who volunteered to
supervise. The dance is for grades
seven and eight.
In history the grade eights are
studying elections. They have been
making a collection of pictures and
articles about the candidates, both
local and national. They also
learned about the first Huron
County elections.
Grades four to eight are involved
in the Auto Skills Math program.
You take a battery of tests and the
computer analyzes your skill level
and provides training at that level.
This program mould help improve
mathematical skills of all students.
Everyone will benefit from this
program.
Grades five to eight are going to
be involved in Perfect Copy. This
computer program helps with
grammatical concepts such as
punctuation, abbreviations, verbs,
pronouns, etc. In addition, students
from grades five to eight, will be
involved with Alemna keyboard
training to improve keyboarding
skills.
Mr. Wanless and Mrs. Cousins
gave CAT tests to grade five and
grade seven students. They started
testing on Oct. 13 and finished
them on Oct. 20. CAT stands for
Canadian Achievement Tests. The
results of these tests will be back in
November and we hope all of the
students did well.
Mr. Wanless, the senior science
teacher, already has plans
underway for the science fair to be
held in the spring. Mr. Wanless and
other senior science teachers in the
area are meeting in Clinton to
discuss fresh ideas for the
upcoming science fair.
It's been a busy week.

some refreshments and friendly
comradeship before heading off to
their next location.
The costume Karoke pubnight
was quite successful with many
participating. It was a good time for
the "wanna be" entertainer to sing
when wearing a disguise. Swooners
and crooners of all shapes and sizes
sang to make it an enjoyable
evening.
On Saturday, Oct. 30 the Cadets
will be participating with the
Legion Poppy Drive. The Cadets
