Construction of a new warehouse, mill and office began on Sept. 1 at the Howson Mill sight a
mile and a quarter east of Blyth. Jim Howson says the construction is necessary to update the
milling equipment and to allow for growth. The feedmill will be moved, for sanitary purposes,
away from the flour mill to ensure no cross contamination. It is hoped the construction will be
complete by early December, says Mr. Howson.

It's the bottom of the ninth inning
and time to score the "big hitters"
in corn and soybean varieties.
Each year produces its share of
outstanding players, but the only
way we can know for sure who
they are is to score each variety.
The Huron and Perth Soil and
Crop Improyement Associations
will again be collecting variety plot
yield data to score varieties. The
Association has a new computer
program to summarize yield,
moisture, standability data and also
if the plot was no-till or
conventional. The summary report
will be available at the annual
meeting.
