Their teacher is Gail Lear, a. Mus. R.M.T. of Londesboro. Special congratulations to Shauna Hemingway, RR 2, Bayfield, who has won the 1993 Silver Medal for Grade 2 Rudiments for the highest mark obtained in the whole province during any of the three sessions of the academic year. This award will be presented at the Fall Convocation later this month in London. Western Ontario Conservatory of Music is in academic co-operation with the University of Western Ontario and is one of only two conservatories in Ontario whose examination system has been fully evaluated and accredited by the Ministry of Education for Second- ary Schools credits: Secondary School Graduation Diploma (XII) and Ontario Academic Credit for university entrance. Completing grade nine piano were: Valerie VanRiesen, Clinton, first class honours; and Sara Lyons, Londesboro. Receiving honours in first partial grade nine were: Stacey Buffinga, Clinton and Maria Gibbons, Wingham. Ansley Simpson, Wingham completed grade eight with first class honours and Leslie Pike, Wingham completed grade eight with honours. Many students took part in the Walkerton Festival in April with Lesley Pike receiving a $100 scholarship and Craig Fair, Bluevale, a $50 scholarship for their solos. An exam recital was held in Wingham United Church May 21. The final recital was held June 15 in Londesboro United Church. Taking part, as well as the above students listed under exam results were: Rosalyn Hartman, Londes- boro; Lindsay Hay, Clinton; Kimberley Veenstra, Hullett; Joel and Brent Thomas, Londesboro and Reanna Ramaker, Clinton.
