Blyth Council briefs
Village seeks grant for sludge storage

The Threshers Association has
purchased an additional piece of
property abutting the original and it
is to be included in the agreement.
The Threshers have exclusive

Council enacted a Bylaw amend-
ing the definition of a Farmers' Flea
Market in the Zoning Amendment
Bylaw which council had passed
for Ken Brindley on Part Lot 12,
Lake Road West Concession.
Council enacted a Bylaw to
authorized the municipality to
invest money jointly with other
municipalities. The program is
being co-ordinated by local
Authority Services Ltd. (LAS)
which is a subsidiary of the
Association of Municipalities of
Ontario.
Council authorized Township
Drainage Commissioner, Russel
Kemighan to inspect and make the
necessary repairs on the Renon
Municipal Drain and the Kemighan
Municipal Drain.
The financial statement prepared
by the deputy clerk showed that the

board will be responsible for the
maintenance and operation of the
cemetery.
The clerk was directed to write
the Minister of Agriculture and
Food, Elmer Buchanan, requesting
rights to the land during the
Reunion and any other land uses
will be by mutual consent by the
Threshers Association and the Vil-
lage of Blyth.

The village of Blyth will have a
$481.31. Councillor Steenstra
stated that the goal of the
Committee had been to break even.
He said he believed with some
minor changes this could be done
next year.
Council, by resolution, endorsed
the Huron County Highways
Department's recommendation that
the speed limit on County Road 15
from Benmiller to County Road 17
be posted at 90 km per hour.
The Committee of Adjustment
met prior to the council meeting in
regard to the Minor Variance
application submitted by Rinaldo
Facchinato for Part Lot 28, Plan
180. The Committee, on the
recommendation of the Huron
Planning and Development
Department, deferred its decision in
order to have the applicant amend
the application and until further
information is received from the
Huron County Health Unit.
The next regularly scheduled
meeting of council will be held
Oct. 5 at the Colborne Township
Community Hall at 8 p.m.
