He has been employed by International Nickel for 24 years and now is Chief Advisor for the Health and Safety Program of all northern mines Involved with Inco. The Londesboro Lions Club served over 200 people a breakfast of pancakes and bacon at the Hullett Community Hall on Oct. 3. The grade three/four class from Hullett found out that in New Zealand they are just having winter. BUSY LITTLE BEES Mrs. Bosman's grade one/two students are excited about working on the ICONs this week. They Happy Gang meets over pot luck dinner The September meeting of Londesboro Happy Gang Seniors was held at the hall on Wednesday, Sept. 29. It began with a pot luck dinner at 12:30 p.m. The meeting opened with 0 Canada. Minutes of the May meeting were read and approved by Clare and Ruth Vincent. The financial report was given by Reta Kelland. Twenty- seven answered the roll call. A thank you card from Audrey Thompson was read as well as an invitation to meet with Seaforth Seniors on Thursday, Oct. 7. Helen Lee spoke on the Children's Aid Building in Goderich. Zone 8 District Fall Rally is on Oct. 20 at the Londesboro Hall. It was moved by Clare Vincent, seconded by Renee Snell the state of officers be accepted as read. The new president Edythe Beacom made a brief statement. The Christmas party on Nov. 24 is to be catered to by Londesboro UCW. There were four tables of euchre. Winners were: ladies' high, Beth Knox; ladies' lone hands, Margaret Taylor; ladies' low, Betty Archambault; men's high, Vietta Hoggart; men's lone hands, Orville Kelland and men's low, Josephine MacGregor. made a book in the library which Mrs. Pletsch called "Back to School" and another one in their classroom called "Our School is a Safe School", using some excellent ideas. They are working on the theme "All About Me" and made paper bag puppets of themselves to use in little plays. THE 32ND ANNUAL STEAM SHOW The grade seven class attended the Steam Show in Blyth on Friday, Sept. 10. The grade seven students showed the grade three class around and answered all of their questions. From 11 - 12:30 p.m. the sevens attended the sports program but due to the rain it took place indoors. In the sports program they ran different activities such as nail driving, wood piling, corn husking, tug of war, and rooster crowing. OFFICE NEWS There are four new teachers joining the staff. A special welcome to Miss Anderson — grade six, Music, Band; Mrs. Crane — area Resource Teacher; Mr. Livermore — grade five and Mrs. Rea —French. The Open House is on Thursday, Sept. 23 from 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. This will give parents and their families time to meet the teachers and visit classrooms. The Book Fair starts Sept. 20-24. There will be Great Owl books during this time. On Thursday night, there is also Saga Books from Grand Bend. GRADE 2/3 CLASS GETS STEAMED UP Mrs. Radford's grade two/three class attended the Huron Pioneer Thresher Reunion on Friday morning, Sept. 10. The grade seven students helped them with a questionnaire as they studied the pioneer way of life. The field trip was educational and enjoyable. Purchasing a vehicle is a big decision! Sympathy is extended to her family. Jennifer Louise Snell, daughter of Brenda and Harris Snell was baptized. The sermon topic was Cornerstones of the Faith. This was hymn-sing Sunday. Holy communion was held. The Official Board will meet on Monday, Oct. 4 at 8 p.m. in the Sunday School room. The Fellowship Committee (Work and Life) will meet on Wednesday, Oct. 6 at 8 p.m. in the Sunday School room. Choir practice will be held at 10:15 a.m. on Oct. 10 and 17.
