On Sept. 9 Mark and Evelyn
Howard flew to Vancouver where
they rented a car and travelled
through the mountains.
They visited the icefields at
Jasper National Park, Banff, Hot
Springs, Lake Louise, Calgary,
Hell's Gate Canyon, the Rocky
Mountain Ski Resort where Mark
went up on the lift. A nervous Ev
stayed at the lodge which was one
of the highlights of their trip. They
saw fresh snow and lots of snow in
the mountains. The weather was
beautiful all the time.
They went for a cruise on a
houseboat, and also caught some
speckled trout. A visit to Victoria
on Vancouver Island was enjoyed,
however Mark wasn't too
impressed with Penticton and they
found Vancouver very friendly.
They covered 19,800 miles
(33,000 km.) on the highway,
stopping only to eat and sleep.
Mark is going on a hunting trip to
Newfoundland on Oct. 16 to Nov.
6. Unfortunately Ev has to work
but they plan to spend Christmas in
Jacksonville, Fla.
By the way Ev did all the
driving.
