Hearing more of the Exodus story read we learn how Moses is experiencing frustration in leading the demanding and quarrelsome Israelites. Rev. Banks pointed out two truths about leadership from the story. Leadership is burden- some and leadership is•often a thankless job. He illustrated the differences between being a boss and being a leader. A boss creates fear, a leader creates confidence. 'Bossism' creates resentment, leadership breeds enthusiasm. A boss says T, a leader says 'We'. A boss fixes blame, a leader fixes mistakes. A boss knows how, a leader shows how. 'Bossism' makes work drudgery, leadership makes work interesting. A boss relies on authority, a leader relies on cooperation. A boss drives, a leader leads.
