A mighty kick
The forward on the East Wawanosh soccer boys team
takes a shot on goal, while a downed Grey Central student,
filling in for the absent Brussels team looked on. Grey
school hosted the North Huron tournament originally set for
Thursday, however inclement weather resulted in it being
moved to Friday. Two of the participating schools, Brussels
and Howick were unable to attend as they were at the
International Plowing Match in Walkerton, so teams from
Grey and Wingham filled in. Just a fun competition, there
were no winners and each player from the other schools,
Turnberry, East Wawanosh, Grey and Wingham received
participant ribbons.

Allan Dettweiler of RR4, Brus-
sels has announced his intention to
run in the federal election under the
Libertarian Party banner.
Mr. Dettweiler, who previously
took a run in the political arena
during the last provincial election
as the Libertarian candidate filed
his nomination papers on Saturday.
Mr. Dettweiler says that the party
policy is essentially less govern-
ment. "We would start with cutting
down the size of government,
which would eventually lead to cut-
ting down taxes, leaving more
money in the economy," he says.
The Libertarian Party believes
that private enterprise stimulates an
economy. Though there are many
issues in this election, he says the
priority concerns seem to be the
economy, unemployment and taxa-
tion. "They.are related as far as we
see it."
Though the party opinion to rid
the country of subsidy assistance is
not popular with all groups, Mr.
Dettweiler says it is a party that is
offering an option for people. "We
don't believe in buying people's
votes," he said.
Another issue the Libertarians
would change is the GST, Mr. Det-
