The Brussels Midget Girls are
tops in the west after claiming the
Tri-County Western A Division in
a game against Fordwich Aug. 30.
After each team winning one,
this final in the best of three series
was a close one, with a score of 18-
14.
With Fordwich claiming an early
lead, Brussels came back with a
home run by Lisa Alexander which
began a home team rally.
Michelle Machan and Cheryl
Howe, who replaced starter Tricia
Zehr were a great catcher, pitcher
match up.
When a flagging Fordwich pitch-
er hit five Brussels players the
advantage turned in Brussels direc-
tion and they quickly took the lead.
The trophy and crests were pre-
sented to Brussels by John Lowe.

Fastball Tournament.

In Brussels' final game the Arthur
Merchants scored two runs in the
second, third, and sixth innings for
a 6-3 win to eliminate the Tigers.
Doug Conley batted three for three
while Ken Higgins was three for
four.
The Tigers will be participating
in their last tournament of the year
when they travel to Zurich this
weekend.
