Brussels Livestock report Market sees cows selling $1 lower, $53 to $74 Sales at Brussels Livestock for the week ending Aug. 6 were: fed cattle, 503; cows, 229; veal calves, 192; sheep and goats, 99; stockers, 461; and pigs, light run. The market at Brussels Livestock saw fed cattle selling steady. Cows sold $1 lower. There were 287 steers on offer selling from $95 to $100 to the high of $106.50. Twenty-eight steers consigned by Gerald Geisel, Elmira, averaging 1449 lbs. sold for an average of $102.50 to the high of $106.50 purchased by Star Brand Packers. Thirteen steers consigned by Schmidtbrook Farms, Woodstock, averaging 1439 lbs. sold for an average of $95.19 with sales to $103.25. Twelve steers consigned by John Ford, Corunna, averaging 987 lbs. sold for an average of $100.45 with sales to $102.50.
