The motion was approved at the annual convention held in Alliston on July 27, 1993. Bill 42 is the Farm Registration and Farm Organization Act. It received second reading in the Ontario Legislature on June 21, 1993 and has been sent to the Resources Committee for further study. A press release stated that the motion was agreed upon by Region 3 NFU because: -there is no provision for a farmer vote on the issue of stable funding -there has not been adequate con- sultation with the farm community Continued on page 11 WHYTE BROS. Brussels Livestock report 189 heifers on offer range from $96 to $101 Sales at Brussels Livestock for the week ending July 30 were: fed cattle, 599; cows, 247; veal calves, 153; sheep and goats, 205; stockers, 402; and pigs, 103. The market at Brussels Livestock saw fed cattle selling on a steady trade. Cows traded $1 - $2 lower. There were 390 steers on offer selling from $96 to $101 to the high of $105.50. Forty-seven steers consigned by G. A. Stewart Farms, Ripley, averaging 1176 lbs. sold for an average of $97.94 to the high of $105.50. Thirteen steers consigned by Schmidtbrook Farms, Wood- stock, averaging 1442 lbs. sold for an average of $95.20 with sales to $104.75. Twenty steers consigned by Cunningham Farms, Lucan, averaging 1448 lbs. sold for an average of $96.95 with sales to $104. Thirteen steers consigned by Tony Aprida, Orangeville, averaging 1162 lbs. sold for an average of $98.61 with sales to $103.
