Wawanosh history book nears completion What is old is new again. The history of West Wawanosh Town- ship will soon be published in a new book. Committee members have not finished their work yet as they con- tinue to track down the lost names, the old photos and that little bit of the story that will complete the pic- ture. The group of 15 to 20 volunteers have been working on the project for almost five years, says editor Rhea Hamilton Seeger. She says, the book was first sug- gested by Mr. John Foran, a retired school teacher, who thought the township should have a pamphlet telling of its history. Ms Hamilton Seeger says once the project got started, it just con- tinued to grow. She is presently working to find the original picture of the building of the St. Augustine Church. Ms Hamilton Seeger has a photo copy of the construction which shows the workers taking a break. The limestone structure is almost complete except for the peak. In the background of the photo, partially hidden by trees, the old church is visible. It is surrounded by various sizes of stone. The picture was originally owned by Mary Fuller who is now deceased. It is hoped that a family member will have the photo and contact Ms Hamilton Seeger at Continued on page 18 C JIM AMPBELL SANITATION Septic Tank Cleaning Jim Campbell Lloyd Weber \.,_527-0085 887-6700 DON° ORGE '3.00 THURSDAY SAVE ON YOUR CLASSIFIED AD
