Brussels Livestock report
Trading steady
for fed steers
and heifers
Sales at Brussels Livestock for
the week ending July 23 were: fed
cattle, 725; cows, 201; veal calves,
143; sheep and goats, 116;
stockers, 518; and pigs, 87.
The market at Brussels Livestock
saw fed steers and heifers selling
on a steady trade. Cows sold $1-$2
higher on an active trade.
There were 459 steers on offer
selling from $96 to $101 to the
high of $105.50. One steer
consigned by Earl Geisel, West
Montrose, weighing 1410 lbs. sold
for $105.50. Thirty-one steers
consigned by Harvey McMurchy,
Clarksburg, averaging 1192 lbs.
sold for an average of $96.42 with
sales to $102.50.
Twenty-seven steers consigned
by Gerald Geisel, Elmira,
averaging 1399 lbs. sold for an
average of $99.20 with sales to
$102.25. One steer consigned by
Ken J. Gowan, Allenford, weighing
