QUALITY DAILY PHYSICAL EDUCATION Earnest' opens at Avon By Bonnie Gropp Combining life's pleasures with good deeds is the concept behind this year's Glen Farms Open House. On Sunday, July 25, Dave and Judie Glen, will be hosting a spe- cial day at their home, located on County Road 19 between try Molesworth and Ethel. Glen Farms is a specialty food industry begun by the Glens. This will be their second open house. In addition to displays of their product and those of other businesses, there will be a gourmet barbecue lunch. A highlight will be two perfor- mances by reknowned horn player Morris Secon. Mr. Secon was first chair horn player for the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra and a member of the faculty at the East- man School of Music. He has recorded with Dizzy Gillespie, Frank Sinatra and Connie Francis, as well as playing in movie sound- tracks, such as The Miracle Worker, Requiem for a Heavy- weight. "This man is incredible," says Mrs. Glenn. Mr. Secon also helps the Glens with marketing and it is for this reason that he is taking part in the open house, which runs from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. The event will be the platform for the introduction to the public of Glen Farms Special Reserve prod- ucts, which were unveiled at the Maitland Conservation Foundation banquet this past April, says Mrs. Glen. Five cents from each jar of Special Reserve sold will go to the Foundation, which funds the Wawanosh Nature Centre, an edu- cational facility in Huron County, "Basically Morris is here to help me draw money for the Founda- tion," says Mrs. Glen. Mr. Secon's The Magic of Music concerts have been widely received in the states. They are geared to audiences from school age to seniors. Admission is free, though Mrs. Glen is asking people to bring a non-perishable food item or house- hold product as an entry for a draw. These will in turn be donated to the Canadian mental Health Associa- tion's Rural Connections Farm Relief. The prize is for a gourmet gift basket.
