The approval was incorrectly reported in the minutes of that meeting, therefore requiring a cor- rection at the June 28 meeting. The board directed the property committee to spend no more than $2,000 to research the project and bring a report to the board. The report would state the feasibility and the cost of such a project. The board will now seek approval from the Ministry of Health for the renovation. The board denied a request by Stratford Hospital for a donation towards the purchase of a CAT Scan for their facility. It was agreed by the board to renew the hospital's insurance through the Frank Cowan Compa- ny. The amount will be $16,223. Peggy Menzies was recognized for her service, by the Canadian association of Hospital Auxiliaries, with a Life Membership. The board agreed to send her a letter of con- gratulations. The board approved the nomina- tion of Michael Falconer as chair, Marg Makins as vice-chair and Earl Hinderley as treasurer for the board of directors for the 1993/94 year. Morris reeve gives landfill a good review Morris landfill site got a good review from Reeve Doug Frazer at the July 6 meeting of Morris Twp. Council. Mr. Frazer said, "The site looks really good, a big improvement." Even with this assessment, Coun- cillor John Duskocy had questions regarding the dumping of snow fence, ceiling tiles and the removal of tires. It was mentioned by council that a sign should be posted stating there is no dumping of tires at the site. Three re-zoning issues were dis- cussed by council: Frank and Ruth Radford were given approval for the conversion of a dwelling to included a second apartment on Lot 13, Conc. 6; the owner of Lot 26, Conc. 7 will be allowed the reduced lot frontage from 23 meters to 10 meters; and James McCallum of Belgrave be request- ed to submit an application for re- zoning with regards to his lot on Queen Street. Council advised Building Inspec- tor Paul Josling to proceed with the issuing of the following building permits: Clare V anCamp, Lot 1, Conc. 5, a veranda; Fred Stute, Lot 13, Conc. 7, a granary and bin dryer; Great Land Farms, N. Pt. Lot 3, Conc. 3, a garage; Clem McLel- lan, S. Pt. Lot 25, Conc. 5, a sun- deck and patio door; and a demolition permit for Wilfred Haines, N. Pt. Lot 1, Conc. 1. Councillor Duskocy raised the issue of the chloride application on the roads. He advised Road Super- intendent Lloyd Michie the process had not been effective on Sideroad 10/11, Conc. 8. Council decided an extra application of chloride should go on the sideroad. Mr. Michie informed council that construction on Centre Sideroad, Conc. 7 was nearly complete and they are now cutting the hill on Centre Sideroad, Conc. 8. Lorne Campbell contacted coun- cil on behalf of Belgrave United Church with regards to Sunshine Cemetery. He stated that the board of stewards must meet to decide on repairs but that the church would cut the grass and try to straighten the stones in the meantime. Three residents of Parker Drive in Belgrave, Gordon and Laurie Bosman and Andrea Stevenson, requested council assume owner- ship of the well on the street which serves five lots. Council would not be responsi- ble for any cost incurred. Council agreed to proceed with an agree- ment and survey for the well. Morris Township has been allot- ted a grant of $7,663.37 for drain maintenance in 1993/94. Applications will be accepted for the tile drainage program until Nov. 1, 1993. After that date they must be faxed to the Ministry of Agricul- ture and Food for approval. For a free catalogue, call: UNICEF Canada 1-800-567-4483 unicef („) United Nations Children's Fund
