Patty Banks, accompanied by Marion Godkin, sang "We Are Climbing Jacob's Ladder" which Randy read about in Genesis 28:1- 10. His children's story was entitled "Don't judge a book by its cover". It tied in with the parable of the weeds and wheat. We should not be so quick to judge but to treat everyone like wheat, he said. It's God's job to decide which is weed and the true wheat. Rev. Bank's sermon was called "Weeds". If life is a grain field then it's a combination of good and bad. Rev. Banks told the several messages of the parable. If it's about judgement then this is an activity that belongs to God, carried out by His sense of timing and grace. If it's about God being the Master, he said, then it shows God's tolerance for disorder in human relationships — he allows wheat and weed to occupy the same space. If it's concerned with the mission of the Church, Rev. Banks said, then the body of Christ is urged to be a patient fellowship that gathers as many as possible into God's Kingdom before the closing of the age. Phyllis and Emmerson Mitchell brought their 10 bread and breakfast guests to church with them. The young people, ages 13 - 19, are from the Markham Chinese Alliance Church in Toronto. They have been touring the countryside and have enjoyed the area very much. Rev.
