Rev. Peter Tucker united in mar-
riage on Saturday, June 5 at Knox
Church, Belgrave Brian Wightman
and Alison Coultes.
The groom is a son of Norman
and Florence Wightman, Auburn
while the bride is a daughter of Bill
and Muriel Coultes, RR5, Brussels.
The bride's friend, Kim Higgins

Ontario Street United Church
was the setting for the wedding of
Gerald Carl Townend of Toronto,
the son of Carl and Katherine
Townend of Carleton Place, and
Marni Joy Gibbings, of Toronto;
the daughter of Bob and Donna
Gibbings of Clinton, on May 15,
with Rev. David Woodall
officiating.
The maids-of-honor were
Rhonda Lobb of Kitchener and
Melanie Mann of Toronto, friends
of the bride.
The bridesmaids were Donna
Taylor of Coboconk, friend of the
bride, Catherine MacLean of
Grassie, cousin of the bride and
Pilar Schrapp of Niagara Falls
(friend of the bride). The flower
girl was Avril-Anne Hamilton of
Clinton, friend of the bride.
The best man was Brian Taylor
of Coboconk, friend of the groom,
and the ushers were Jamie
Gibbings of Clinton, brother of the
bride, Rob Townend of Carleton
Place, brother of the groom, Jamie
of RR5, Brussels was matron-of-
honour. Her bridesmaids were her
sister, Mit. Andrea Stevenson of
Belgrave and her cousin Mrs.
Kathy Warren of London. Krista
Bucholtz of Cherry Valley, niece of
the groom was flowergirl.
Paul Coultes, RR5, Brussels, a
friend of the groom was best man.
Ushers were Scott Stevenson, Bel-
Carlson of Kitchener, friend of the
groom, and Brent Townend of
Carleton Place, brother of the
groom.
Singers at the wedding were Fred
Lobb,- Bob Mann and Jerry Cox,
friends of the family.
Special guests at the wedding
were Mr. and Mrs. Carl Townend
of Carleton Place, grandparents of
the groom, Mrs. Vera Gibbings of
Clinton, grandmother of the bride,
and Mr. Jim Smith of Brussels,
grandfather of the bride.
A wedding reception was held at
the Goderich Township Hall in
Holmesville. After a honeymoon
trip to Niagara Falls, the couple
will reside in Toronto. (Mac

Doug and Barb Howson of
Blyth are pleased to

wedding will take place at
the Blyth United Church on
July 17, 1993. An open
reception will follow at
9 p.m. at the Bayfield
Community Centre.

Prior to the service the candles
were lit by the couple's mothers.
The bride and groom lit the unity
candle during the service. The bride
was given in marriage by her par-
ents.
During the service the organist
Mrs. Elizabeth Procter accompa-
nied soloist Pam Gethke who sang
"The Greatest Gift" As the couple
signed the register Mrs. Gethke
sang ''Evergreen".
The bride's niece Lisa Matheson
read the scripture.
A special guest at the wedding
was the bride's great aunt, Mrs.
Mabel Down of Brunner.
Following the ceremony, guests
were entertained at a reception at
the Brussels, Morris, Grey Commu-
nity Centre, after which the couple
departed for a honeymoon trip to
Cape Breton Island.
The Wightmans now reside in
London.
The Auxiliary to Wingham and
District Hospital held its June
meeting with newly appointed
President Marlene Leedham
presiding.
The meeting proceeded with Past
President Mary Lou Cameron
presenting Marie Phillips with a
past president's pin and the
announcement of Jane Hastings as
the new historian.
Five members attended the
Region Spring Conference in
Kitchener which included a tour of
the Seagram Museum. Topics
included new ideas in fund raising,
a new focus on humour in hospitals
and looking into the future.
A memory expert also
entertained members.
The Region 2 Fall Conference
will be held in Seaforth in
September.
The last presentation was made
to an R.N.A. graduate with the
highest scholastic marks at the
graduation ceremonies. It was
presented by Mary Lou Cameron.
Events coming up include the
Fall Tea to be held at the home of
Margaret MacLeod on Sept. 13
from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. and 1:30
to 3:30 p.m. The Fall Rummage
sale will be held Thursday, Oct. 14
from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Friday,
Oct. 15 from 10:00 to 1:00 p.m.
The next auxiliary meeting is
Sept. 20 at 1:30 in the board room
of the Wingham and District
Hospital.
