Gerald and Truce Ten Hag
are proud to announce the
graduation of their son,
Jeromy Herman, at the
convocation ceremonies
held at the University of
Guelph on June 4. Jeromy
received his Bachelor of
Commerce Honours degree
with Distinction In
Agriculture Business. He
was the recipient of the T.K.
Warley Agri Food Policy
Prize and the Certified
General Accountants
Association of Ontario
Award. In September, he
will be attending the
University of Guelph
Masters Program in Dairy
Economics and Genetics.
Jeromy is a graduate of
Central Huron Secondary
School and St. Joseph's
Separate School. Love and
congratulations from dad,
mom, Shana Lee, Bonita and
Nick.
Taking it to court
Grey Central School principal Paul Statia, left, receives a
cheque of $2,000 from Brussels Lion Bob Thomas. The
money was used for the restoration of the tennis court at
the school.

The Sacrament of the Lord's
Supper was observed on Sunday,
June 27 at Knox United Church,
Belgrave which was the final
service with the congregation and
Rev. Peter Tucker.
During the service the men's
choir sang the anthem, "More Love
to Thee".
Following the service Mr.
Murray Scott called Rev. and Mrs.
Mr. and Mrs. Ross Anderson and
George Michie attended the funeral
of their cousin Mrs. Gibson Cole at
First St. Andrew's United Church,
London on Wednesday, June 30.
Matthew and Alicia Ball of
Hanover spent a few days
holidaying with their grandparents
Mr. and Mrs. Ross Anderson.
Mr. and Mrs. Dave McCormick,
Jeffrey and Gregory of St.
Catharines, Mr. and Mrs. Nick
Vesley, Jennie and Kristen of North
York, Mr. and Mrs. George
Johnston and Erin of Ilderton spent
the weekend with Mrs. Laura
Johnston.
A family picnic was enjoyed on
Sunday at the same home with Mrs.
Mary Warwick, Mrs. Donald
Steward and Tyler, Blyth; Mr. and
Mrs. Fred Armstrong, Auburn; Mr.
and Mrs. Paul Warwick and Brett,
RR 3, Exeter; Mr. and Mrs.
Clarence Yuill and David Elliott
and Mr. and Mrs. Cameron Yuill,
Cameria and Claren of Belgrave.
Justin Campbell, son of John and
Linda Campbell celebrated his 10th
birthday on Monday, June 28 at his
home. Some of his friends
celebrating with him were Chad
Cook, Tyler Fenton (whose
Tucker to the front where he
expressed the congregation's thanks
and appreciation to both for their
guidance, support and friendship
during their four years in Belgrave.
Both had served in the choir as well
as all the other work and visiting
they did.
Mrs. Joyce Vincent, Clerk of
Sessions presented Rev. Tucker
with a wall clock, ornately carved
birthday's June 25), Paul Walker,
Kenny McCracken, Craig Marks,
Jason Fear, Travis Hopper and
Justin's brother Jeremy. The
children enjoyed many games and
sports followed by a barbecue and
sleepover. A fun time was had by
all.
On Tuesday, June 29, after the
mite boys ball game, Justin's
mother surprised Justin and the ball
team by serving cupcakes and
punch. Happy birthday was also
sung to Adam Potter whose
birthday is the same day as Justin's,
June 29 and coach Jeff Mullin,
whose birthday was June 30.
Mrs. Hilda Vincent and Mrs.
Dorothy Logan attended the
wedding of Mrs. Vincent's son Paul
Vincent to Elaine Shedden in
Walton Memorial United Church,
Oakville on Saturday, July 3.
The dinner and wedding
reception was held in the
Burlington Legion at 5:30 p.m.
Mr. and Mrs. Garner Nicholson
attended a surprise birthday party
for Garner at the home of Rob and
Judy Nicholson, Listowel.
Also attending were Mr. and
Mrs. Ron Nicholson and Sherri of
Barrie and friend David, Kitchener,
Dr. and Mrs. Ray Nicholson and
by Leo Sanders of the Belgrave-
area and a purse of money. Mrs.
Muriel Coultes presented Mrs.
Tucker with a silk floral
arrangement.
Members of the congregation
gathered for lunch following the
presentations and all expressed
their best wishes for happiness and
success in their new church home
in Elliott Lake.
Victoria of Elmira, Mr. and Mrs.
Glyn Wide, Jennifer and Trevor of
Hamilton. Kimberly was unable to
attend.
All enjoyed a lovely smorgas-
bord supper.
Carrie Ann Vincent is holidaying
at her grandmother's Mrs. Hilda
Vincent for a few days.
Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Yuill'-
visited on Saturday with Mrs.
Yuill's son and daughter-in-law,
Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Elliott,
Kaylee and Hanlon at Cedar Bay
Family Campgrounds near Forest.
David Elliott of Arkona is
spending a few holidays with his
grandparents Mr. and Mrs.
Clarence Yuill.
Sam Pletch is convalescing at his
home after being a patient in
University Hospital, London.

celebrate
25th
Open House was held on Friday,
June 25 at the Belgrave
Community Centre for Paul and
Linda McKee who were celebrating
their 25th wedding anniversary..
They were married June 21, 1968
at the Anglican Church Milverton.
Those present from the wedding
party were: maid of honour, Pearl
Fetter, New Hamburg; best man,
Don McKee, Kitchener, flower girl,
Kim Dyck, Palmerston; ring bearer,
Wade Henderson, Kitchener;
organist, John Wanless, Smith
Falls; ushers, Jack Nickel,
Gowanstown, Ernest Henderson,
Kitchener.
Relatives spending the weekend
at the McKee home were Mr. and
Mrs. Stan Morgan and Mrs. Marie
Ridley, Oshawa; Mrs. Thelma
Hancke and Mrs. Jean Des Roches,
London; Mrs. Vi Kirby and Mrs.
Pat Marcellus, St. Catharines and
Mr. Wilfred Waddell, Milverton.
Other relatives and friends
attending were from Grand Valley,
Shelboume, Palmerston, Milverton
and Ripley.

says goodbye

chosen from Romans 14, with verse
20 as the focus. The sermon title
was "Life in the Church". Rev.
Heersink gave some suggestions on
how to handle "issues" in a church
setting, in a Christian manner.
The collections were taken up for
_local church and christian schools.
The congregation hosted a pot
luck supper at Blyth Lions Park on
July 11 as a farewell gesture to
Rev. and Mrs. Heersink as this is
their last Sunday with the Blyth
Church.
