Playschool grads
Brussels Playschool recently held its annual graduation ceremony at the park. Participating

Bubble fun
Primary students at Brussels Public School participated in
a play day last week. Richelle Jorritsma does some magic
with bubbles during one of the fun events.

attended the 40th wedding
anniversary of Lawrie and Pieta
Cousins at their home in London
on Sunday.
Those attending were Roy and

and Merle Cousins, Jan and Joan
van Vliet, Jack and Audrey Cardiff,
Caroline Kernaghan, Graham and
Marg Work, and Jim and Leona
Armstrong, all of Brussels.
Thirty people on a bus tour from
Toronto stopped at Brussels
Country Inn for lunch before Blyth
Theatre last Thursday.

The regular meeting of Morning
Star Rebekah Lodge took place on
Tuesday, June 22 with Noble
Grand Gertie Kellington presiding.
This is the last meeting for summer
break and lodge will open on Sept.
14 with a pot luck supper at 6:30
p.m.
The annual summer picnic will
be held at 2 p.m. July 14 in the
lodge rooms.
It was reported that Jennie Turn-
bull had been presented with her 25
year member jewel on June 15.

speaker
Sunday, June 27 was a busy day
at Brussels Mennonite Fellowship.
Willard Metzger was guest
speaker for the worship service,
and spoke on fulfilling God's
dreams. Pastor Tom Warner was
worship leader. Following the
service the adults and youth
participated in workshops, while
the younger children were minis-
tered to by Nancy Martin and the
older children, by Mark and Cathy
Lichty.
Following a lunch the children
enjoyed an afternoon of swimming
at the B.M. & G. pool while the
adults and youth continued with
workshops, and discussing dreams
for the future.
Andrea Hiller and Joy-Ellen
Green-wood provided special
music with flutes, and Matthew
Campbell and Kristi Procter played
a piano duet. The day ended with a
social time and barbecue at Howard
and Alice Martin's recreation area
by the river.
On Tuesday evening, the Ladies'
Fellowship had the last meeting
before the summer break. A pot
luck meal and social time was held.
A time of singing was enjoyed, and
the ladies then began brain
storming for the group's activities
when it resumes in the fall.

lovingly draped in her memory at
this meeting.
The District inaugural meeting is
to be held on Wednesday, June 23
in Exeter Lodge Hall. Jean Hodgert
will be installed as District Deputy
President for the coming term.
The annual church service will be
held in Melville Presbyterian
church at 11 a.m. on June 27.
Memorial service is at the cemetery
at 2 p.m. the same day.
