Welcome Huronlea residents You're now part of a very special community in north Huron - among people who work together to make their community a better place. From the ladies of the catering group who serve thousands of meals to raise $10,000 a year to support the Brussels, Morris & Grey Community Centre to the neighbours who hold a huge dinner each fall to keep the Belgrave arena going, people here believe in making things happen. The Citizen is proud to be part of that tradition. In 1985 the people of north Huron in the Brussels and Blyth area had no local newspaper, Dozens of residents joined forces to invest in North Huron Publishing Company Inc. and The Citizen was born. The emphasis ever since has been on service to the community, not profit. Today, to the best of our knowledge we're still the only community-owned newspaper in Ontario.
