OMAF announces program
Cross border exchange
Several Huron County 4H members hosted some Michigan 4Hers this past weekend. The
exchange was turnabout, as the local group had visited in Michigan earlier. Standing, from

Brussels Livestock report
Market steady last week
Sales at Brussels Livestock for
the week ending June 18 were: fed
cattle, 790; cows, 246; veal calves,
94; sheep and goats, 90; stockers,
475 and pigs, light run.
The market at Brussels Livestock
traded on a fully steady market to
last week on fed steers and heifers,
with cows selling $2 - $4 higher.
There were 517 steers on offer
selling from $100 to $107 to the
high of $113.25. Nineteen steers
consigned by Carlyle Thomson,
Parkhill, averaging 1298 lbs. sold
for an average of $104.72 with
sales to $112. Twenty-one steers
consigned by Murray Shiell,
Wingharn, averaging 1361 lbs. sold
for an average of $102.17 with
sales to $111.85.
Fifteen steers consigned by
Maple Emblem Farms, Dungannon,
averaging 1263 lbs. sold for an
average of $102.95 with sales to
$111.25. Nineteen steers consigned
by Bill Hayden, Goderich,
averaging 1377 lbs. sold for an
average of $101.81 with sales to
$110.75. Four steers consigned by

The Volunteer Management
Certificate Program for Huron is
designed to accommodate busy
schedules. Nine, one-day sessions
will be held monthly from Septem-
ber to May with a field placement
running throughout this time.
The field practicum is a
minimum of 60 hours over a one
year period.
The field placement will provide
each student an opportunity to
apply management theory and
skills in a volunteer setting.
Participants will graduate with
the knowledge and skills required
for effective volunteer program
administration for both institutional
and community based settings.
To be eligible participants must
be 19 years of age or older and
have experience or genuine interest
in effective management of
volunteer resources.
The approximate fee is $300
which includes course material but
not text books.
This program organized by
Conestoga College, Centralia
College and Volunteer Huron, will
run only if there are enough
participants. If you are interested in
