Rutabaga Festival 1993 Cooks share recipes On the right side of the law The Metro Toronto Police Winged Wheels Precision Team enjoy meeting with the visitors at the Blyth Rutabaga Festival in the park, following their downtown performance on Saturday. Once again inventive cooks will be able to showcase their wares at the fourth annual Rutabaga cooking contest on Saturday June 26. The rutabagas will be supplied by Blyth businessperson George Hub- bard, who in the past has had to make available close to one ton of the vegetable. In previous years the number of entrants neared 50 in the four cate- gories. The entries were judged in divisions for cakes, muffin or loaf, pie and the most creative. Precision Team on parade The Metro Toronto Police Department's Winged Wheels pre- cision Motorcycle team will be one of the highlights of this year's festi- val The unit was authorized for for- mation by Chief of Police William McCormack in 1990. The participants in the team are taken from the four Traffic Units throughout Metro Toronto. The Winged Wheels are led by Lead Rider Const. Stan Zjeleniews- ki and under the command of Staff Inspector Gary Beamish. Commen- tator for the group is Const. Greg Young. The team of 25 motorcycles has performed across the province and internationally. Their performance will take place on main street after the parade.
