Stratford has record sales
Volunteers who have given
outstanding volunteer service to the
Blyth Centre for the Arts were
honoured by the Province of
Ontario at the recent Volunteer
MERNER-HENRY
Sandra Lee Merner daughter of
Carl and Mary Memer, RR 1 Clin-
ton and Michael James Henry son
of Jim and Janice Henry, Blyth
were united in marriage June 12.
The ceremony took place at Trin-
ity United Church, Blyth. Rev. Paul
Acton officiated.
The bride was attended by her
Maid of Honour Steacy Elliott,
friend of the bride, Shelley Merner
and Jullie Merner, sisters of the
bride, Andrea Henry , sister of the
groom, and Abby Crozier, cousin
of the bride. Junior bridesmaid was
Ashley Carroll, cousin of the
Service Awards ceremony held in
London.
Five recipients are current
members of the board of directors
groom.
The groom was attended by his
bestman Larry Hunking,friend of
the groom, Jason Vander Heyden
and Joe Holmes, friends of the
groom and Mike Memer, brother of
the bride. Junior usher was Shaun
Henry, brother of the groom.
Readers were Chris Royal, friend
of the groom, Lori Crozier, cousin
of the bride and Karsten Carroll,
cousin of the groom.
Soloist was Liz Herman and the
organist was Floyd Herman.
The reception was held at the
Blyth Community Centre. After a
honeymoon in Mexico the couple
will reside in Blyth.

Richards, of Brussels, received a
15-year-pin in recognition of her
years as president of the board and
long-standing member. Current
Past-President Carol Irwin of Blyth
received a 10-year-pin as did
present Vice-President Carol
McDonnell and board member
Marg Webster of Wingham. Blyth
resident Sheron Stadelmann
received a five-year-pin in
recognition of her outstanding
contribution as a friend of Blyth.
At present, the Ministry of
Culture, Tourism and Recreation
has no recognition pin for
volunteers beyond 15 years. the
Festival's longest standing board
member, Helen Gowing, who has
now contributed over 19 years to
the Festival, received her 15 year
pin a number of years ago.
Three outstanding volunteers
with the Blyth Festival Singers
were also recognized at the same
ceremony. Two Huron County
teachers, Joan Perrie of Walton and
Bill Famell of Wingham have held
various executive positions with the
choir and received 10 year pins.
Don McCaffrey of Exeter has
served as the choir's Stage Manager
for over 10 years. Don was also a
recent recipient of the prestigious
Canada 125 Award for his
outstanding volunteer contribution
on the Festival's Board of
Directors.
The Festival and village publicly
salute these volunteers for their
outstanding contributions to the
enrichment of community life in
this area.

Marriage
FRISCHKNECHT- LOGUE
Lynn and Bill Logue of Blyth
are pleased to announce the
forthcoming marriage of their
daughter, Lisa Ann to Henri
Frischknecht, son of Agnes
and Henri Frischknecht, of
Wingham on June 19, 1993 at
Blyth Untied Church at
5:00 p.m.
Stratford Festival's General
Manager Gary Thomas announced
June 4 that box office revenue for
the 41st Season has reached $9.2
million. This Box Office result
represents 50 percent budgeted
revenue from ticket sales for the
year, and is a 14 percent increase
over 1992 ticket sales revenue at
the same time.
The Festival is anticipating
continued strong sales based on the
response of audiences and critics to
the Festival's opening productions
of Antony and Cleopatra, King
John, A Midsummer Night's
Dream, My Shakespeare (Words &
Music Concert Series), and Gypsy.
The 1993 Season continues
through to Nov. 14, with The
Wingfield Trilogy (opens June 16),
Bacchae (opens July 1), Mikado
(opens July 2), Fair Liberty's Call
(opens July 15), The importance of
Les and Cathy Glanville and
BM and Carol Stevenson
are pleased to announce the
forthcoming marriage of
their children, Veronica and
Steve. The wedding will
take place in Brussels
United Church on Saturday,
June 26 at 7 p.m. Open
reception to follow In
Brussels, Morris and Grey
Community Centre at 8:30
p.m.
Being Earnest (opens July 16), The
Imaginary Invalid (opens August 5)
and The Illusion (opens Aug. 6).
Five additional Worlds & Music
Concert Series performances are
also scheduled, as well as a July 13
benefit performance by Christopher
Plummer of his one-man show A
Word or Two, Before You Go.
