Speaker to provide info on manic depression Dianne Prato, regional co- ordinator of southwestern Ontario for the Depressive/Manic Depres- sive Association of Ontario (DMDAO) will be speaking at Clinton's OMAF Board Room on June 17 at 7:30 p.m. Depressive and manic depressive illness affects one in 100 people. Ms Prato will talk about what depressive/manic depressive illness is, what some of the causes are and how episodes can be handled and prevented. This illness affects not only sufferers but their families and friends. It can be handled and a healthy lifestyle can be achieved, but this requires available information and resources. These two things are unfortunately in short supply. This information evening will talk about the illness, resources available and the possibility of starting a support group for those affected with and by the illness. Depressive and manic depressive illness is one that sends those inflicted on emotional roller coaster rides. Some of the world's most creative artists, writers, politicians and public figures of this century and others had the illness. Anyone with questions about this June 13, 1993 will be a day to remember for the 35 Scouts who received their Chief Scouts Award Certificates at a special recognition ceremony held at Main St. United Church, Mitchell for Blue Water Region.
