He received a Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Mechanical Engineering with a Management Science Option. Sean has accepted a position with Western Machining Inc., Wingham as Project Engineer. Danielle McDougall, 17, center, will spend four weeks in Finland, while Jason Lee, 19, second from right, will be in Holland for five weeks. Paul Ross conducted the service at Knox United Church and Nancy Park was organist. Choral Invitation to Worship was sung. Rev. Ross gave the Prayers of Approach and Confession, which were followed by hymn "God Who Spoke In The Beginning." Rev. Ross had conversation with the children and Graham Worsell told of his experience at conference. All repeated the Lord's Prayer and "Jesus Loves The Little Children" was sung by the congregation. Karen Bakker spoke on her experience at youth conference held in London. Hymn "God Who Gives to Life its Goodness" was sung. Rev. Ross' sermon was entitled "You've Got To Be Kidding!" and also gave the pastoral prayers. While the offering was received by Greg Park and Michael Bakker, Jane Stryker played a selection on the piano. The Doxology was sung. The closing hymn was "Now Thank We all Our God". Closing chorus, "To God the Father, God the Son" was sung. Rev. Ross pronounced the benediction and amens were sung. Next Sunday the congregation will celebrate the sacrament of Holy Communion. The next Huronview Fellowship will be held Thursday, June 17 from 7:00 - 7:45. John Baumbach delighted the congregation of Auburn Missionary Church on Sunday, June 13 by singing 'It's Not What's Over the Door but What's in Your Heart.' Slaters mark 40th Congratulations to Rob and Bess Slater, who celebrated their 40th anniversary last Sunday, June 6. Some local people are enjoying canoeing on the Maitland River, a cool dip, and seeing the beauty along our river. Mr. William Anderson of Newmarket spent the weekend with his mother and other members of the family. The monthly meeting of the Women's Institute will be held on Thursday, June 17 at the Auburn Community Hall. The Horticultural "Rose Tea" will be from 2 - 4 p.m. on June 19 at the Auburn Community Hall. Mr. and Mrs. Timothy Eaton of Seaforth visited last Friday with Mr. and Mrs. Tom Lawlor, RR 3, Auburn. Haggitts host reunion The Youngblut reunion was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Tom Haggitt on Saturday afternoon with 32 present. Mr. and Mrs. Glen Patterson of London and Gordon Wall of Wingham entertained with music most of the afternoon with several readings and contests in the intervals. A pot luck supper was served and a short meeting held. It was decided to have the next reunion on the second Saturday in June at the same location. The Haggitts were thanked for the hospitality. Those present were from London, Huron Park, Zurich, Clinton, Goderich, Whitechurch, Blyth, Wingham, Londesboro and Auburn. Pastor Carne's message from Hebrews 13: 9-15, was "Access to the altar." We have a right to come to the altar, he said. A person who wants to get rid of his sins can come and meet God. We are saved only through the blood of Christ. We do not want to be misguided by false doctrine. Pastor Carne said, Some think that good works will take them to heaven. Some are even embarrass- The monthly meeting of the Presbyterian W.M.S. was held at the home of Carol Daer. President Martha Daer gave the call to worship. The devotional period was in charge of Lillian Letherland. The scripture portion was from second Corinthian's chapter four verses 7 - 18 which was read alternately. The CAS builds for future July 1 marks the 100th anniver- sary of the proclamation of the 'Children's Protection Act' and the early beginnings of Children's Aid Societies across Ontario. Formed in 1911, 82 years ago, the Children's Aid Society of Huron County has been caring for children. From 1918 until 1940, the CAS has operated from the County Shelter on Cameron Street in Goderich. Since that time, CAS has been without its own building, operating from various locations within the town of Goderich. Through the years, it has been proven that Goderich is the most cost-effective location for the CAS agency - Goderich is the County Seat with direct access to the legal services and the Courts. Goderich is also the largest population centre in the County and therefore the largest referral base.
