Pastor Carne's message from
Hebrews 13: 9-15, was "Access to
the altar." We have a right to come
to the altar, he said. A person who
wants to get rid of his sins can

July 1 marks the 100th anniver-
sary of the proclamation of the
'Children's Protection Act' and the
early beginnings of Children's Aid
Societies across Ontario.
Formed in 1911, 82 years ago,
the Children's Aid Society of
Huron County has been caring for
children. From 1918 until 1940, the
CAS has operated from the County
Shelter on Cameron Street in
Goderich. Since that time, CAS has
been without its own building,
operating from various locations
within the town of Goderich.
Through the years, it has been
proven that Goderich is the most
cost-effective location for the CAS
agency - Goderich is the County
Seat with direct access to the legal
services and the Courts. Goderich
is also the largest population centre
in the County and therefore the
largest referral base.
Now, in 1993, the Children's Aid
Society is in need of space to
accommodate its staff and services.
The present agency is located at

our personal saviour.
