She also received her diploma of Social Work from Renison College. During her life at Renison Tanya was the recipient of the Dunken Family Centennial Scholarship. E The news, from thel Compiled by Margaret McMahon Phone 887-9250 Resident gets award Robert Cunningham of Ethel was recently the recipient of an award of excellence in education from the Huron County Board of Education. Mr. Cunningham joined the administration of the school board in' 1971 and utilized the expertise he had gained from operating his own business, Cunningham Fuel Services in Ethel. He managed a transporation position until his retirement in 1990. Presenting the award were Bea Dawson chair of the HCBE and Bob Allan, director of education. Several members of the Moles- worth WI attended the 90th anniversary celebrations of the Bluevale WI on Wednesday. A miscellaneous community bridal shower was held in the Ethel United Church on Tuesday evening for Becky Dunbar a July bride. Several people attended the buck and doe for Kim Duskocy and Jim Scott Friday evening in Brussels. Doris and Archie Jacklin, Gloria and Wayne Bowman and Ruth Far- rish attended the wedding of Car- olina (Jacklin) Sage to Fernando Ferreira at St. Theresa's Roman Catholic Church, Kitchener Satur- day. A discussion was held to sponsor a girl for queen of the fair. Kathy Bridge will look into this. Two tables have been booked for WI to celebrate 90th FunFest, one for a bake table and one to raffle a quilt. Roll call was answered, naming an historical place visited in the last year. Two quilts are to be quilted for Glenna Stephens. A date was not set yet. Lunch was served during the meeting by Marie McTaggart and Ruth Bauer. President Ruth Bauer wished everyone a safe summer before adjourning the meeting.
