when Norman Edward Vincent of
Blyth took as his bride, the former
Annie Lavina Leatherland.
This past Saturday, family and
friends gathered at an open house
in Auburn Community Hall to help
the couple celebrate 50 golden
years of marriage.
The wedding ceremony which
marked the beginning was held in
the brides family home near West-

Following a honeymoon trip to
Auburn Missionary Church
members were pleased to have Tim
Harden of Kitchener as guest
soloist on Sunday, June 6.
Pastor Carne's message, "The
Unchanging Christ" was from
Hebrews 13: 8. 'What is the most
essential thing in your life?' he
asked. The early church found that
Christ was the most essential.
Christ is faithful when things go
wrong. At times when we are
devastated Christ is faithful. Christ
is the same in His fidelity. Truth
will always be truth and Jesus
Christ is truth.
Pastor Carne said, Christ is the
same in His finality. When all the
agnostics have given all their
doctrines the final one is Jesus
Christ's. Be prepared to meet Jesus
Christ at the end.
Sunday, June 27 is anniversary at
Auburn Missionary Church. Rev
Colborne Twp. council held its
regular meeting on June 1.
By resolution, council decided to
enact a by-law to change the zoning
on Part Lot 12, Lake Road West
Concession. Property owner Ken
Brindley had applied for the zoning
change to permit the establishment
of a farmers' flea market.
However, several objections had
been raised by adjacent property
owners and Huron County
Planning & Development had
recommended that council decline
to pass the by-law until an
agreement between the concerned
parties had been reached.
Mr. Brindley has the opportunity
to appeal council's decision to the
Ontario Municipal Board.
Council authorized the payment
of the bills and accounts in the total
amount of $139,820.10 as
supported by the treasurer's list of
vouchers.

cent also worked for a time with
Lavis Contracting.
Mrs. Vincent was a full-time
homemaker, busy raising the cou-
ples family of four — sons Clare,
Doug and Jack and daughter Mary
Lou. As well, she has been a mem-
ber of the WI and Canadian
Foresters.
Special guests at Saturday's open
house attended from Hamilton,
Guelph, Wiarton and the surround-
ing area.

United Church followed.
