PAGE 23. `Celli House' comes to Blyth Colleen Curran, renowned Canadian playwright and one of Blyth's best loved writers, is back in Huron County to work on Ceili House, the colourful comedy that opens the mainstage season on June 25. Curran's previous Blyth plays include Cake Walk, Local Talent, and the sellout hit Miss Balmoral of the Bayview. Ceili House unfolds in the country garden of a century home outside a small town in Ontario. Freya Brady is the young woman recently hired as the curator in charge of turning the old home into a museum to honour the famous Canadian novelist who once lived there. Her seemingly simple task is turned into an hilarious misadventure by a collection of eccentric characters including an opera singing gardener, a retired librarian who is a self professed druid, a meddling socialite, and a businessman turned suitor. Celli House is directed by Patricia Vanstone with set design by Stephen Degenstein and lighting by Leslie Wilkinson. The world premiere of Ceili House features the return of Claire Crawford, Laurel Paetz, Anne Anglin and Kevin Bundy and the first time on Blyth's stage for Canadian film and stage actor Michael McManus. Tickets for the early shows are selling well and should be reserved now to avoid disappointment by calling the Blyth Festival Box Office at (519) 523-9300. E.
