Genealogical Soc. wins award The Huron County Branch of the Ontario Genealogical Society won Best Cover for its newsletter, "Rooting around Huron" in the 1992 Marion Keffer Awards from OGS. The editors Earl and Marg Salter of Saltford have done a wonderful job over the past year. The branch will publish quarterly newsletters for the first time this year. On May 5, the group heard Marion Zinn speak on Searching for Roots in Germany. Marion, in a very charming way, told about her very own "miracle" and through slides took the group with her to the province of Thuringia in the central part of what was East Germany to find roots and branches of the Zinn family tree. Marion was fortunate to find a contact in Germany, searching the same family and was able to trace the Zinns back quite far. She was able to visit the area in which the Zinns lived. The magic of Marion's personal style and her pictures of the countryside, held the interest of her audience. On June 2, the next meeting at the Huron County Museum will feature Dennis Mulligan of London, speaking on the Catholic church records in Huron Coun O bituaries PATRICIA DUNBAR A Belgrave-area wife, mother and grandmother, Patricia Dunbar passed away on Sunday, May 23, 1993 at University Hospital, London, following a short illness.
