James and Dorothy Schneider of
Auburn received a special phone
call May 21.
Their son Cpl. Dennis Schneider,
had just returned to his base in Pet-
tawawa having completed his tour
of duty with the peacemaking
forces in Somolia. Stationed as a
member of the Royal Canadian
Regiment in Balet Uen, near
Muqdisho, Cpl. Schneider had spo-
ken with his parents a few times
from Nairobi, his mother said and
was home for a brief visit at Easter
in time to celebrate his 27th birth-
day.
She added that though her son
had told them a bit about the physi-
cal aspects of the country, little else
was discussed. "They don't talk
much about what's happening," she
said.
Though this was Cpl. Schneider's
first major tour of duty, he has been
with the Armed Forces for seven
years. His plans for the time are to
stay home and spend time with his

day at Auburn Missionary Church
as six people, Carol and Will
Jardine, Bob and Donna Lewis,
also Brian and Bev Walden, were
received into the fellowship.

Don't Know About Tomorrow".

Prayer."
Pastor Came's message entitled,
"A New Day" was taken from Acts
2: 1-17. Pentecost was an annual
feast time but when the Holy Spirit
comes there is a new presence, he
said. The Holy Spirit comes that we
may die to self. It signifies a new
purity. The Holy Spirit purifies the
heart as our body is the temple of
the Holy Spirit.
The Holy Spirit gives us new
power and a new focus. The church
must have the Holy Spirit if it is to
have a miraculous ministry, Pastor
Came said.
Tim Harden will be guest soloist
Sunday, June 6.
Rev. Paul Ross conducted the
morning service at Knox United
Church and Bernice Gross was
organist.
The invitation to worship was
sung. The junior choir sang an
anthem under the direction of
Shelley Worsell and Bernice Gross.

approach and confession followed
by the singing of "The Lord is
King".
Rev. Ross had conversation with
the children and the Lord's Prayer
was repeated in unison. "Jesus Bids
Us Shine" and "Breathe on Me
Breath of God" were sung.
Rev. Ross read scripture after
which the congregation joined in
singing "In Thy Pentecostal
Splendour".
Rev. Ross's sermon was "Catch
It". Rev. Ross gave the pastoral
prayers.
The offering was received by Ian
