Sanders celebrate
Friends and family celebrated with Frank and Helen
Sanders Saturday at the Royal Canadian Legion in
Brussels on the occasion of the couple's 50th wedding
anniversary.
Sanders celebrate 50th
On Sunday, May 30 greeters at
Blyth United Church were Lorna
and Kathy Fraser. Ushers were
Margaret Caldwell, Nancy Wasson,
Mike Pawitch and Cliff Snell.
Rev. Ramirez opened the service
with the Call to Worship, Prayer of
Approach, Prayer of Confession,
Silent Confession, Assurance of
Pardon. "Praise The Lord Ye
Heavens Adore Him" was sung.
The responsive reading was
selected, verses from Psalm 103
with scripture taken from Act 2: 1-
21. This was followed by the
singing of the hymn "Pour Out Thy
Spirit".
In his conversation with the
children Rev. Ramirez spoke about
Pentecost Sunday, which is 50 days
after Christ's Resurrection. The
Holy Spirit came down 50 days
after Christ had risen. Jesus'
promise was fulfilled. He promised
that the Holy Spirit would come
upon the disciples 50 days after he
had risen. The children werit to
Vet Club meets

On Thursday, May 27 the North
Huron Vet Club met. They talked
about diseases, and were told about
viruses and bacteria.
Members discussed and planned
their achievement night, then broke
into groups to practise.
The next meeting is June 19.

Pentecost, theme of sermon
Frank and Helen Sanders of
Blyth celebrated their 50th wedding
anniversary May 19 with a celebra-
tion at the Royal Canadian Legion
in Brussels Saturday night.
The pair were both born in Hol-
land. They married May 19, 1943.
Upon arrival in Canada, Mr.
Sanders undertook many careers.
He has been a herb grower, farm
labourer, market gardener, cut
flower grower and dairy farmer.
He's now retired from fanning but
continues to grow herbs.
Mrs. Sanders had a full-time job
raising raising nine children and
many gandchildren. The children
are Bill, Leo, Elaine, Joe, Jack
Bert, Louis, Jane and Frank Jr. Mrs.
Sanders also helped her husband in
their many different occupations
and life styles.
Saturday's celebration began at
St. Michael's church in Blyth and
ended with a dinner and entertain-
ment at the Legion.
