King John begins preview
performances on Wednesday, May
26 at 8:00 p.m. One of
Shakespeare's most complex
characters, John is both hero and
villain. Usurping the English
throne from his nephew Arthur,
John at first appears to be a strong
leader. Ultimately, however, his
selfish ambition and moral
weakness prove to be both his, and
his country's, undoing.
King John is directed by Robin
Phillips with costumes designed by
Ann Curtis, music by Don
Horsburgh, lighting designed by
Louise Guinand and movement
choreographed by John Broome.
The 1993 Stratford Festival
production of King John features
Edward Atienza as Pandulph,
Michelle Fisk as Blanche, Lewis
Gordon as Salisbury, Lorne
Kennedy as Chatillon, Diego
Matamoros as Lewis, Stephen
Ouimette as Philip the Bastard,
Irene Pauzer as Lady Faulcon-
bridge, Nicholas Pennell as King
John, Ronn Sarosiak as Robert
Faulconbridge and Pyince Henry,

William Webster as the King of
France, Scott Wentworth as Hubert,
Ian White as Pembroke and Janet
Wright as Eleanor.

Double Up On Your Fibre
If you're like most Canadians,
you're not getting enough fibre
each day. It's estimated that most
people need twice as much as
they're getting now. That amounts
to about 25 to 30
grams of fibre each
clay. It sounds like a
lot of fibre, but it's not
hard to get if you
choose the right
foods.
Company will be reworking the
play which deals with the themes of
environmental destruction and loss
of innocence.
From July 12 to August 21, the
Young Company will further
develop characters and deepen the
world of the play.
