In accordance with the Weed Control Act, Statutes of Ontario,
1990, Chapter W5, Sections 3, 16 and 23, that unless noxious
weeds growing on their lands are destroyed by JUNE 7, 1993
and throughout the Season, the Municipality may enter upon the
said lands and have the weeds destroyed, charging the costs
against the land In taxes, as set out In the Act. Proso Millet and
Velvet Leaf are named as noxious weeds In most municipalities,
and Giant Cow Parsnip (Hogweed) In all County municipalities.
The co-operation of all citizens is solicited.

Procters celebrate 40th
ment scheduled for July 7-11.
Wingham Memorials, under the
guidance of the road superinten-
dent, was authorized to have ceme-
tery stones at the Westfield
Cemetery, Anglican Cemetery and
Deacon Cemetery repaired if neces-
sary.
Mrs. Sybil Straker visited her son
Douglas and his children of
Glencoe for a couple of days last
week.
Mr. and Mrs. Americo Arruda
and Michelle of Fergus visited on
Friday with her mother, Mrs.
Dorothy Logan. Michelle stayed
with her grandmother for the
weekend.
Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Logan and
Trevor of Wyoming called on his
mother, Mrs. Dorothy Logan on
Saturday.
Mrs. Hilda Vincent and Mrs.
Dorothy Logan attended Calvin-
Brick anniversary service Sunday
morning. After the service they
visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs.
George McGee.
Friends and neighbours of this
community extend their sincere
sympathy to Allan Dunbar and his
family in the loss of a dear wife,
mother and grandmother, Pat
Dunbar.
Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Logan and
Trevor of Wyoming spent the
holiday weekend with her parents,
Mr. and Mrs. George McGee.
Sam Pletch is a patient in
Victoria and Children's Memorial
Hospital, London.
Warning signs about separating
garbage are being purchased by
East Wawanosh council.
At their May 4 meeting, council
authorized the road superintendent
to obtain prices from companies for
landfill signs. The signs are to read
"Due to strict rules imposed by the
Ministry of the Environment, seg-
regation of garbage must be strictly
enforced. Please follow the Landfill
Site Supervisor's instructions
regarding the separation of
garbage."
Building permits were issued to:
Lorne Humphries as an agent for
Belle's Variety and Gifts care of M.
Humphrey of Lot 5 subject to
approval from the Maitland Valley
Conservation Authority and the
Huron County Health Unit; Snell
Feed and Supplies, addition to
house and garage at Part Lot 34,
Conc 3 and to Gordon McBumey
of Part Lot 32, Conc 10 for machin-
ery storage.
A request for funds from the
Blyth Bantams Hockey team for
championship leather jackets was
denied.
Council also decided not to rent
the township office's upstairs room
to the Belgrave United Church for
use as a minister's office.
Council requested notification
for work being performed on
municipal or private drainage
works on Hwy 4.
Approval was given to the Bel-
grave and District Kinsmen to
obtain a liquor license and special
occasion permit for the ball tourna-

The family of Ross and Mary
Louise Procter honoured them with
a reception on the occasion of their
40th wedding anniversary at the
Belgrave Community Centre on
Sunday afternoon, May 23.
The best man, Charles Procter
and wedding attendant, Margaret
Brown Raymond of Thornhill were
present. Other very special guests
included grandmother Alice
Procter, all eight grandchildren and
relatives from both the Cameron
and Procter families.
There were also former and
present neighbours, local residents
and long-time friends from out of
town, classmates from the
University of Guelph and the
Guelph General Hospital School of
Nursing.
A lovely solo was sung by
Heather Clark of Paisley at the end
of the afternoon.
At a dinner held in the evening at
the Brussels Inn guests were
welcomed by Chris Procter, and
greetings were read by Cam
Procter, from friends in British
Columbia, Australia and others
unable to be present. A toast was
proposed to Ross and Mary by
Louise Procter Maio.
At the close of the evening Ross
thanked all the members of their
family for hosting such a
memorable occasion.
U tables in
euchre game
There were 11 tables in play at
the weekly euchre which was held
in the W.I. Hall Belgrave,
Wednesday, May 19.
Winners were: high lady, Mrs.
George Michie; second high, Mrs.
Robert Grasby; lone hands, Mrs.
Lloyd Appleby; low lady, Mrs.
Hilda Vincent; high man, Richard
Moore; second high, Garner
Nicholson; lone hands, George
_Johnston and low man, John King.
A pot luck supper will be held in
the W.I. Hall May 26 at 6:30 p.m.

HIGHWAY CLOSING
Notice is hereby given that
pursuant to the Municipal
Act, R.S.O. 1990, as
amended, the Council of the
Corporation of the Township
of Grey proposes to enact a
by-law to stop up, close and
sell part of sideroad 30-31,
concession 9, north of
Huron County Road 16 and
south of the Canadian
National Railway, Township
of Grey, County of Huron.
The proposed by-law and
description of the lands
affected may be viewed in
the Municipal Office of the
Corporation of the Township
of Grey at the address
hereinafter noted. The
Council of the Corporation
of the Township of Grey will
hear, in person or by
counsel or agent, any
person who claims his land
will be prejudicially affected
by the said by-law and who
applies to be heard at a
meeting to be held at the
said Township Municipal
Office on the 7th day of
June, 1993 at 7:30 p.m. or as
soon thereafter as the said
meeting may be held.
