Notice is hereby given that the Annual Meeting of the Wingham
and District Hospital Corporation will be held In the Nursing
Assistants' Training Centre, Catherine St., Wingham, Ontario on
Thursday, June 17, 1993 at the hour of eight o'clock p.m. for
the revision of bylaws: for the election of Governors; for the
appointment of Auditors; and for the transaction of such other
things as may properly come before the meeting.
Copies of the Annual Report and Hospital Financial Statements
may be obtained at the front desk of the Wingham and District
Hospital prior to three o'clock p.m., Thursday, June 17, 1993.
Said documents will also be available at the Annual Meeting.
Memberships granting voting privileges may be purchased at
the front desk of the hospital for five dollars ($5.00) prior to five
o'clock p.m., Wednesday, June 2, 1993. No membership sold,
after that time, on that date, will entitle the purchaser to a vote.

Scout fundraisers net $408
Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, and
Venturers in the Blyth area have
just finished a variety of Scouting
activities during the month of
April, and the first week in May.
On Saturday, May 1, Cubs and
Scouts participated in a bottle drive
in Auburn, Blyth, and Londesboro
while Group Committee held a
bake sale in front of Blyth
Decorating. Total revenue for the
two events was $408. Group
Committee expressed their
appreciation to the mothers of the
boys for donating such a variety of

Magic dance
The great Pumpkin Caper
visited Blyth Public School
May 21 to hand out pumpkin
seeds for the Optimist's
annual Great Pumpkin Caper.
The caper then demonstrated
to students the magical dance
which ensures the seeds will
sprout.
tasty baking, to the people who
purchased the goodies, and to the
three communities for generously
donating their empty bottles to the
boys.
That same weekend Scout Leader
Lavern Clark and Adam Blair
participated in the District
Invitational Canoe Trip at Poker
Lake.
Tuesday, May 4, one Beaver,
seven Cubs, five Scouts, three
Venturers, four parents, and four
leaders planted 1,000 trees at Dale
Haggins'.
Last meeting for the Beavers for
the current year was on May 11.
Final activities included the
construction of bird houses, and a
Mother's Day gift.
Cubs spent a meeting night in
April cleaning up the arena
grounds. They also were treated to
a visit to the Blyth Vet Clinic,
where they got to see an operation
performed on a domestic pet. The
last big event for the Cubs will be
Benmiller Camp, May 28 - 30.
Several Scouts also will participate
in Benmiller Camp, for which they
have constructed rocket launchers,
and practiced making a rope bridge.
That same weekend the three
boys who are going to the Canadian
Jamboree in Calgary will be
attending a C.J. Pre-camp weekend
in Southampton with Scout Leader
Lavern Clark. Both groups of boys
are planning for their respective
camps, deciding on menus, what to
pack, and how to pack it.
On May 19 they plan on having a
fun night at the Vanastra Pool.
Summer plans for the Scouts
include involvement with the
Community Play in Blyth, June 8 -
19, and reconstructive work on the
Blyth Creek along with the
Ministry of Natural Resources and
several local community groups.

Visitors on Sunday with Mr. and
Mrs. Alvin Snell and Mr. and Mrs.
Herb Shannon and boys were Mr.
and Mrs. Jack Johnson of London.
There were seven tables of
euchre at Memorial Hall, May 17.
Winners were: high lady, Ruth
Sheill; high man, Hazel Reid
(playing as a man); low lady, Clara
Rinn; low man, Len Shobbrook;
ladies' lone hands, Ruth Fischer
and men's lone hands, Edgar
Howatt.
Special prizes went to Jim
McCall, Graeme McDowell, Ferne
Howatt, Mrs. Garner Nicholson,
Clara Rinn and Len Shobbrook.
As this was the last euchre for the
season, coffee and lunch were
served.
