Clinton Public Hospital will not
build a Heliport for the hospital,
board members heard at their April
26 meeting.
The issue had come up earlier at
a board Property Committee meet-
ing. The committee members gen-
erally conceded that a heliport in
Clinton would not be used on a reg-
ular basis and would not be a good
use of public funds.
The property committee also
brought up the issue of expanding
and renovating the visitor entrance.
They said that no recommendations
have been established.
In other board news, the finance
committee revealed that $7,000
more was needed for a project to
replace existing flooring and reno-
vate first floor patient rooms. The
board approved the additional
expense.
The finance committee also stat-
ed a $12,262 surplus was generated
during the month of March raising
the year-to-date surplus to
$458,988-
A report from the nominating
committee was reviewed. The com-
mittee stated that it is continuing to
solicit names for nomination to the
board at the annual meeting. They
had decided they would not force
an electron by nominating more
individuals than there are vacan-
cies.
The annual meeting, to be held
June 2 at the OMAF building in
Clinton, wili feature a slide presen-
tation on Joyce Doig's trip to Rus-
sia. There will be no dinner at the
meeting this year.
The board learned the April 23
fundraising dinner raised between
$5 and $6,000.
